Thai Nguyen to host Vietnam’s first international tea festival

The first international tea festival will be held from November 11-15 in Thai Nguyen city and Nui Coc Lake tourist site in Thai Nguyen province.

The festival is expected to have the participation of enterprises and importers from 10 countries and territories, including China, India, Russia, Japan, the UK, the US, Germany, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Taiwan (China).
Domestic tea enterprises and producers from 34 provinces and traditional tea trade village will also join the festival.
The festival will feature an international tea seminar, a tea culture festival, a beauty contest, and an exhibition on the land and people of Vietnam in general and Thai Nguyen province in particular.
The festival will also include many other activities such as the 2011 Thai Nguyen international trade and tourism fair, a carnival, art performances, and sporting events, as well as a rural market offering local specialties and tours for visitors.
The festival, which is jointly organised by the Thai Nguyen provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to introduce Vietnamese tea trademarks and products to domestic and international visitors. It is also an opportunity for tea-related enterprises to exchange experiences and boost co-operation.
