Vietnam to hold the first International Tea Festival
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ministry of Information and Communications cooperated with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province to hold a press conference to announce the content of the first International Tea Festival - Thai Nguyen 2011.
As schedule, the first ever international tea festival in Vietnam will take place in the center of Thai Nguyen City and Nui Coc Lake Tourist Site (Phuc Tan Commune, Thai Nguyen City) from November 11-15, 2011. It is expected that tea masters and importers from ten countries and territories where have imported or used Vietnamese tea products will gather with traditional villages and tea-trading enterprises nationwide participating in the festival.
The festival is not only an occasion to introduce Vietnamese tea culture and products to international visitors, but also to exchange experiences between the domestic and international tea-related businesses, and gradually improve tea manufacturing and processing in Vietnam, affirm Vietnamese tea brand in the international market.
The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on November 12, 2011 at Nui Coc Lake Tourist Site in Thai Nguyen Province.
In addition to a number of key activities such as international seminar on tea tree; tea culture festival; Thai Nguyen Beauty Contest; photo exhibition featuring Vietnam’s tea-growing areas..., there are also many other support activities in the festival including international tourism and trade fair Thai Nguyen 2011; rural market with specialities of the region; carnival, martial arts performances; human chess, boat racing, shows to introduce Vietnamese tea, ecotours and “Return to the roots” tours, and art performances...
It is estimated that the festival will attract about 500,000 international and domestic visitors.
